As far back as I can remember I wanted to sew. Once I learned to successfully thread a needle, I would raid my mother’s rag bag and button box and practice sewing. Soon I advanced to making fashions for my Barbie doll. I wanted a toy sewing machine but never got one. I have since made up for that. I have a collection of eleven now! .

One summer when my children were small we took a family trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Amish country. I fell in love with quilts! The beauty and workmanship in these quilts made me want to learn the craft. From then on I took several classes, read many books and began to make quilts of my own. Over the years I made many quilts for family and friends. In 1996 I started MadeMarion and made quilts for sale.

I make mainly baby and lap sized quilts. Making a special quilt for a special baby is very gratifying to me. I also enjoy the challenge of a custom order; finding and selecting just the right fabrics. When I am not shopping for new fabrics, patterns and books; I like to learn and apply new techniques.
